Safety & Health Officer

Reporting to the Safety, Health & Environment Manager, the job incumbent will be mainly required to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor safety & health policies and procedures
- Organize regular safety & health committees as per legal provisions
- Implement appropriate safety & health training programmes
- Carry out regular occupational safety & health audits and conduct relevant risk assessments
- Organise appropriate occupational safety & health programmes
- Conduct safety induction training for all new recruits
- Inspect regularly all places and sites of work and record findings
- Recommend necessary actions or procedural changes to correct areas not in compliance with safety & health regulations
- Investigate occupational accidents and submit reports with remedial actions
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or any equivalent qualification
- 2 years of proven working experience in a construction environment
Other Requisites
- Fully conversant with safety, health and environmental legislations
- Familiar with OHSAS / ISO standards
- Holder of a valid driving license
- Conversant with MS Office applications
- Experience in dealing with expatriate labour would be an advantage
